Mariah Carey And Nick Cannon Name Their Babies…

It’s official, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have named their babies Monroe Cannon & Moroccan Scott Cannon!

Well we knew that both babies’ names were going to start with the letter ‘M’ because Mariah had tweeted out a teaser yesterday and today they revealed their names.

Mariah gave birth to the twins on April 30th, which also happened to be her and Nick’s 4th wedding anniversary. Obviously there were quite a few people eagerly waiting to hear what the babies were named since as soon as Mariah tweeted out the names her web site crashed! 


I heard she named their son Morrocan because that’s the name of their NYC apartment and he’ll be called Roc for short!  What do you think of the twin’s names?!

BREAKING: Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon Welcome Their Twin Babies!

Congratulations are in order for Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon! The happy couple welcomed their boy and girl twins today at 12:07 p.m. at an undisclosed hospital in Los Angeles. Mariah‘s personal rep Cindi Berger, confirmed the births to The Associated Press saying:

“The baby girl was born first, weighing 5 lbs., 3 oz., and was 18 inches long; her brother was next, at 5 lbs. 6 oz., and was 19 inches.”

The couple has quite a bit to celebrate, not only did they become first time parents, they are also celebrating their third anniversary today! People.com asked Berger whether the birth was planned to coincide with their anniversary and she said:

“No, not even Mariah could plan that.”

Apparently Mariah and Nick listened to “We Belong Together” right after the babies were born! Berger gave PEOPLE some more details saying:

“Nick was very nervous and Mariah was completely calm. Mariah thought it was another soft labor and Nick was driving her to the hospital and she very calm and the music was blasting,” she added. “When they walked into the hospital, [Nick] was going the wrong way and they nurse redirected them to go the maternity ward, and I said to her, ‘that’s right out of I Love Lucy,’ and she laughed.”

I am SO excited for them! No names have been released to the press yet although Cannon did say back in January that they were aiming for unique – not wacky.

Last week, we got to see Mariah Carey’s epic, naked pregnancy photo on the cover of Life & Style. Many criticized Mariah for giving (selling?) the photos of L&S, one of the most budget tabloids, but considering she also gave L&S the exclusive on the babies’ genders, I think Mariah probably has an existing relationship with someone at the mag or something. Anyway, this week’s gem comes via the British OK! Magazine - even more naked pregnant photos, this time with Nick feeling up his lady. Oh, Mariah. I LOVE YOU.

There are a few excerpts from the OK! Mag piece, and of course it’s all Mariah:

    Mariah says: “You can tell the personalities a bit. In viewing our ultrasounds, our boy is all ready like Nick, like, ‘Here I am, take my picture or don’t, and our girl is coyly facing the other way, like, ‘No pictures,’ waiting for a proper debut. I took some ultrasound footage of them in the womb that I think they’ll definitely find interesting later in life.”

Look, I know some of you might think these photos are cheesy and gross and weird and creepy and all kinds of wrong, but you know what? It’s Mariah, bitches. She wants us to celebrate her love and her babies and her life, and I for one am celebrating. She’s magnificent. Budget and magnificent.
